iSHABAKAT celebrates 2009 recession by expanding !
2009 has been quite a year for us at iSHABAKAT. let me start by celebrating the launch of the iSHABAKAT Network of authorized enabled locations where all our projects, programs and activities are hosted, those locations include Government built centers (knowledge stations), Computer labs at Universities, Schools, Community Based Organizations, and local associations, etc. We certified and mobilized a team of Positive Change Entrepreneurs across All 12 Governments of Jordan. Up to, our newly established iSHABAKAT Consulting Unit which successfully delivered projects under one of the following services:

iSHABAKAT Research TM : conducts research , information gathering, processing services through the team of trained iSHABAKAT youth across local communities.
iSHABAKAT Capacity Building TM : conducts specific tailor made capacity building programs, and develops curricula.
iSHABAKAT Digital Literacy TM : conducts digital literacy training based on the iSHABAKAT proven model and Microsoft Unlimited Potential curricula.
iSHABAKAT Community Outreach: make use of iSHABAKAT presence across local communities and activities and programs implemented to spread awareness, or mobilize manpower to implement initiatives or serve a cause.
iSHABAKAT Sponsorship: matches your CSR initiatives with the institution development unit of iSHABAKAT to help you adopt activities taking place in a Governerate , a Community, a Theme, or a number of individuals going through our program.

As for Partnerships during 2009, the highlight was the Government of Jordan's commitment to our programs through a multi-year agreement we signed with the Ministry of ICT allowing us to host our activities and programs across 120 government built centers (knowledge stations). The agreement signed with the Civil Service Bureau to promote the entrepreneurship option among Jordanians seeking public sector jobs. But most importantly, is the partnership with CDI ( Center of Digital Inclusion Head Quartered in Brazil) in Q4 2009 where we both decided to join forces to form http://www.cdiglobal.org and accordingly transform the CDI Network into a global network, targeting a global impact and change peoples lives through technology across the globe.

We end 2009 with just under 12,000 community member empowered via our positive change through technology program (3,000 of them empowered during year 2009) , those community members applied their knowledge into practical use by incubating 3,131 life transforming projects (nearly 800 of them incubated during year 2009). Hosted in one of the 207 locations we authorized and enabled for implementation across Jordan, our teams of 567 youth - which included 315 females, pledged and provided 62,616 service learning man days in their communities (16,023 of them during year 2009) to make this a reality.

All in all, we are incredibly thankful for the amazing growth we’ve seen, stories we’ve heard, partners who joined forces, and positive change entrepreneurs and agents we’ve met in 2009. We’re looking forward to achieving more and more positive change in lives of people as we head in to 2010.

It may be gloomy everywhere else, but for the next couple years there's going to be more activity than ever in Jordan and the ripple effect of positive change has shifted gear to go beyond borders , destination Arab World ! If you're ready to join forces so that together we can reach closer to our goal of achieving positive change in the lives of 10 million arabs by year 2015, meet us halfway and give us a shout !

Happy New Year ;)
